Candidate List status, Annex XVII restrictions, CLP classification and national inventory listings can each mean different obligations. Ask one question across jurisdictions. Check the records behind the answer before an SDS revision or customer reply.

Chemicals regulatory compliance for your team's daily checks

  • Regulatory affairs and product stewardship: Is this substance on the Candidate List, in Annex XIV, or restricted under Annex XVII?
  • Only Representatives: Check clients' substances with a cited answer for each file.
  • SDS teams: Has the harmonised classification changed since our last revision?
  • Article compliance teams: What do Article 33 and SCIP require above 0.1% SVHC content?
  • Consultancies: Research EU, US and Asian inventory status before the client call.
  • EHS teams: Compare formaldehyde exposure limits across countries. See the answer and EHS page.

Chemical regulatory intelligence that catches classification changes

Titanium dioxide shows why one consolidated text is not enough. Its Annex VI entry 022-006-00-2 was annulled, yet the July 2026 consolidated CLP text still prints it.

DateWhat changed
23 Nov 2022General Court annulled the classification: CURIA 190/22
1 Aug 2025Court of Justice dismissed the appeals: CURIA 99/25
1 Jul 2026Consolidated CLP Annex VI still shows the entry

Open the titanium dioxide answer. It finds the mismatch and the rulings. No harmonised classification for titanium dioxide is in force, so self-classification under CLP Article 4 applies.

One CAS number across national chemical registers

Ask which inventories list formaldehyde, CAS 50-00-0. The answer brings the records and identifiers together:

JurisdictionFormaldehyde record or identifier
EUEC 200-001-8; CLP index 605-001-00-5
USTSCA Inventory: ACTIVE
CanadaDomestic Substances List
AustraliaAIIC, CR 380, with specific information requirements
Japan (MITI/ENCS number)2-482, from the NITE dictionary
South Korea (KE number)KE-17074
ChinaIECSC 2013, serial 20022
Türkiye (2011 national inventory)Entry 1

The answer also flags identifiers that belong to other substances. Open the cited formaldehyde records and follow each row to its source.

Chemicals regulatory compliance: limits, dates and article duties

PFHxA's REACH Annex XVII entry 79 sets thresholds of 25 ppb for the sum of PFHxA and its salts, and 1,000 ppb for related substances. Application dates depend on use:

  • 10 April 2026: firefighting foam for training, testing and public fire services.
  • 10 October 2026: consumer clothing, footwear, paper food packaging, consumer mixtures and cosmetics.
  • 10 October 2027: other consumer textiles.
  • 10 October 2029: civil aviation firefighting foams.

Check the PFHxA answer for exact scope, exemptions and paragraphs in consolidated REACH 02006R1907-20260511.

For articles, Article 33 duties start above 0.1% w/w Candidate List SVHC content per article. Consumer replies are due within 45 days. The SCIP guide and cited answer work through a bicycle grip.
